How to Merge PDFs in Your Browser (No Upload Required) — PdfEditly blog

Merging PDFs is one of the most common document tasks — stitching together a contract and its appendix, or combining scanned receipts into one file. With PdfEditly you can do it entirely in your browser.

Why merge in the browser?

Traditional online tools upload your files to a server you don't control. PdfEditly uses pdf-lib running directly in your browser, so your documents never leave your device. That means:

  • Privacy — nothing is transmitted anywhere.
  • Speed — no upload or download round-trip.
  • No limits — no daily quotas or paywalls.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Merge tool.
  2. Drag and drop two or more PDFs onto the page.
  3. Reorder the files by dragging the handle on the left.
  4. Click Merge — your combined PDF downloads instantly.

Tips

Reorder before you merge. The final document follows the order shown in the list, top to bottom.

If a file fails to merge, it may be password-protected. Remove the password first, then try again.
