Combining photos and images into a PDF
Many forms and portals ask for a single PDF, even when what you have is a set of phone photos: receipts, ID documents, signed pages or handwritten notes. Image to PDF turns JPG and PNG files into one document with one image per page.
Page order and size
Pages are created in the order you select the images. Each page takes the dimensions of its image, so portrait and landscape photos keep their shape and nothing is cropped.
Images are embedded without an extra compression pass, so the PDF looks the same as your photos. That also means a set of high-resolution phone photos can produce a large PDF; if a portal has a size limit, run the result through Compress PDF.
Taking photos that convert well
Photograph documents on a dark, flat surface in even light, holding the phone directly above the page. Avoid shadows across the text and fill the frame with the page. If your phone has a document scanning mode, use it to straighten and crop pages before converting.
Supported formats
JPG and PNG are supported. iPhone photos saved as HEIC can be converted by sharing or exporting them as JPEG first, or by changing the camera format to Most Compatible in iPhone settings.
Tips for image PDFs
- Rename images with numbers so they sort in the right order when you select them.
- Crop out backgrounds before converting to keep pages clean and files small.
- Add a password with Protect PDF if the images include ID documents.
