Rearranging the pages of a PDF
Pages end up in the wrong order all the time: double-sided scans that put every back page at the end, merged files in the wrong sequence, or an appendix that needs to move forward. Reordering fixes the sequence without rebuilding the document.
Drag-and-drop ordering
Each page appears as a thumbnail. Drag pages into the order you need and the grid updates as you go, so you can see the final sequence before saving. Individual pages can also be rotated from the grid if a scan came in sideways.
What changes and what does not
Only the order and optional rotation change. The content of every page — text, fonts, images and links — stays the same, and nothing is re-compressed.
Fixing double-sided scans
Scanners without duplex support often produce all front sides followed by all back sides in reverse order. For short documents, dragging the pages into place works well. For long documents, it can be faster to split the scan into front and back sets, then merge them in alternating order.
Tips
- A larger screen and a mouse make long documents easier to rearrange.
- Remove unwanted pages first so there are fewer thumbnails to move.
- Open the result and check the first and last few pages before sharing.
