Privacy Policy

PdfEditly is built to be private by design. Your documents are processed entirely on your device.

Last updated: June 7, 2026

The short version

PdfEditly performs all PDF editing, merging, splitting, and compression directly in your web browser. Your files are never uploaded to our servers — there are no servers that receive them. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your data.

Files you open

When you open a PDF or image, it is loaded into your browser’s memory and processed locally using in-browser libraries. The file stays on your device. When you download an edited document, it is generated on your device and saved directly by your browser. Closing or refreshing the tab discards the file from memory.

Information we collect

  • No file content. We never receive, store, or have access to the contents of the PDFs or images you work with.
  • No account data. PdfEditly does not offer or require sign-in for its core tools.
  • Basic analytics (if enabled). Our hosting provider may collect aggregated, anonymous usage metrics such as page views and approximate region. This data is not linked to your documents.

Cookies and local storage

We use minimal local storage to remember preferences such as your light/dark theme. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

Third-party services

The site is hosted on a static hosting provider and may load assets (fonts, scripts) from trusted content delivery networks. These providers may process standard request metadata (such as IP address) as part of serving the page, subject to their own privacy policies.

Children’s privacy

PdfEditly is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
